Sophie, bilingual Wedding Celebrant in Nouvelle Aquitaine

Dear bride & groom,

My name is Sophie and I joined the Unique Ceremonies team in 2019. I cover the Charentes, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne regions, so if you are planning to celebrate your union in the beautiful venues these regions have to offer such as Poitiers, Niort, Cognac, La Rochelle or the Ile de Ré, I would be thrilled to take care of your Big Day. I have been living in Charente Maritime since 2017 after several years in the Centre region.

I am a French national but have spent many years in London and San Francisco. I was married for 22 years to a British man, which greatly contributed to my knowledge of the Anglo-Saxon way of life without forgetting my roots.

After a career in the finance sector, my love for the English language led me to teach it to adults. I have been teaching for 8 years no and this activity has enabled me to develop my speaking skills and to demonstrate the kindness, patience and pedagogy necessary to build a relationship of trust with others.

I am now an educational coordinator and still a teacher, which gives me the opportunity to be in contact with a veery varied public of students and teachers of many nationalities and cultures. I can honestly say that due to my broad professional and personal experience, I am very open-minded, flexible and I have a good sense of humour. I would be so happy to use these skills to create for you an authentic and truly bespoke wedding ceremony performed in a relaxed yet professional manner.

You may wonder how a former finance expert who teaches English ended up being a wedding celebrant? Well, I am going to be honest with you. I did not know that there were professional wedding celebrants out there but when I stumbled upon Magali’s job offer, it caught my attention.  I was looking for a new challenge which required other skills than teaching. I spoke to Magali and discovered that we had had similar experiences and I liked her enthusiasm. Curious by nature, I also saw it as an opportunity to meet new people, develop a relationship with them and help them make their wedding day unforgettable!

Over the past 3 years, I have enjoyed many great moments with wonderful couples. Each ceremony is different but each one is full of emotion and laughter! My greatest satisfaction is of course when the bride and groom are delighted and their guests too!

As with most of us, I am deeply touched when I hear a beautiful story and I feel lucky to contribute to a new chapter of that story and rest assured I will do my utmost to tell Your Beautiful Story and create a unique moment for you and your loved ones.

The Charente, Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne offer a beautiful setting for your wedding ceremony thanks to the beautiful light and varied landscape. Many beautiful venues make an incredible backdrop for your wedding, not to mention the countless accommodation options for your guests.

I hope that this article will make you decide to celebrate your love in the departments of Charente, Charente Maritime, Deux-Sèvres and Vienne which have so much to offer you and I also hope that my words will tempt you to entrust me with the design and celebration of your secular wedding ceremony to which I will give the greatest care.

I look forward to meeting you soon…

Sophie
